Safety First

There is nothing more important than the safety of our students. With this in mind, we have compiled a list of safety guidelines for you to review with your child(ren) now, or at any time of year.

  • Always walk with a buddy to and from school.
  • Do not talk to strangers.
  • Inform your parents and the school if a stranger approaches you.
  • Remember, adults do not ask for directions from children.
  • Always let your parents know if there has been a change in your plans.
  • Avoid taking short cuts through fields and parks.
  • Do not accept rides from strangers.
  • Never walk alone, especially at night.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings when wearing earphones.
  • Do not accept gifts from strangers.Always be aware of your surroundings when wearing earphones

Please take a moment to review these tips with your child(ren). At school, teachers will be reviewing these important messages with all students and, as always, staff will be vigilant in supervision.

Jays Care

Many of us are very fortunate to be able to play baseball.  However, many children across Canada do not have the same opportunities.  At Julie Payette, we are supporting the Whitby Chiefs Minor Mosquito baseball team by holding an Equipment Drive in support of the Jays Care Foundation.  New and used equipment collected through the drive will be donated to Jays Care, for use in their Rookie Leagues across Canada.  Equipment can be dropped off at Home Run Academy at 695 Westney Rd. S. in Ajax, or Precision Tune Auto Care at 114 Winchester Rd. E. in Brooklin, or you may drop it off at Julie Payette Public School and we will deliver it to one of the designated places.  Thank-you for your support.
